Luis Flores, P.E., ACTAR, Civil Engineer/Accident Reconstructionist, will speak at the CLM Annual Conference held at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, April 6-8. His session is titled, Insurance Fraud – Fraud: An Unruly Predator of Epidemic Proportions.
A civil engineer, Luis Flores brings significant experience in vehicular accident reconstruction and forensic engineering to the firm, including airbag control module data imaging, evidence preservation, site documentation, and analysis. He provides litigation support, such as expert testimony and exhibit preparation, to Crane Engineering/Safety Engineering Associates’ clients that include insurance companies and law firms.
Before joining the firm, Luis worked as an accident reconstructionist at a Texas-based engineering firm where he investigated accident sites and inspected damaged vehicles. In addition to interpreting data from airbag and engine control modules, he worked with various media to prepare exhibits such as 2D and 3D diagrams, videos, and photographs. He has more than 10 years of experience with video and audio editing software and is proficient in multiple design and CAD (computer-aided design) applications.
A licensed professional engineer in Minnesota and Texas, Luis received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso. His additional training includes coursework in traffic signals, crash data retrieval, and accident reconstruction.
He is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR) and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and the Midwest Association of Technical Accident Investigators (MATAI).
