Crane Engineering, a consulting engineering firm, and a leader in the areas of risk assessment, failure analysis and forensic engineering, is seeking a civil/structural/architectural engineer to join our best-in-class team of engineers and scientists. With offices in Plymouth, MN and Madison, WI, this position will be located in Madison, WI.
The key responsibility of this position is to assist in the root cause failure analysis of structures. This includes comprehensive field and laboratory investigation of buildings and other infrastructure systems. These investigations may include assessments of foundation settlement, structural systems, curtain walls, window systems, facades, and roofing. This job requires an engineer with effective written and oral communication skills in order to effectively communicate results with technical and non-technical clients.
This position requires an engineer with 10 years of progressive experience in structural design and/or evaluation of buildings and infrastructures in addition to a high degree of professionalism and strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task and to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to write technical reports.
The ideal candidate has developed a diversified knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and industry standards, along with a history of collaboration with multi-disciplinary professionals inside and outside the organization to understand and fulfill the needs of the client. Candidate will have a solid technical understanding of structural systems, construction materials, waterproofing, curtain walls, window systems, facades, and roofing. Candidate must also be able and willing to work on sloped surfaces, confined areas and in extreme temperatures.
