Mechanical Technician

Vern Gothman's experience as a metal fabricator and manufacturing technician serves him well as Crane Engineering's mechanical technician. He lends support to the firm's engineering and technical staff, assisting with case management, testing, inspections, artifact handling, the reference library and special projects. He also calibrates and maintains the calibration schedule for major testing equipment.

In previous positions, Vern helped optimize fabrication procedures and plans. He has worked with a wide variety of materials – from polypropylene to aluminum - and mechanisms – from hoist tank-line systems to ventilation systems.

Along with his former employer, Vern holds a United States Patent for the "Method of Joining Plastic Preforms to Encapsulate an Article," a process that helped the employer improve tool design and function, saving the company millions of dollars in warranty costs.
