Mechanical Engineer

During his 25-year career, Jeff Wingfield has developed specialized expertise in designing and building power transmission systems, drawing on his knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, electronics and more. Jeff's uncommon understanding of how these disciplines work together helps him successfully analyze automotive systems when they fail.

At Crane Engineering, Jeff conducts forensic failure analysis of mechanical designs and systems, including automotive systems – particularly with regard to manufacturing and integration into the vehicle. He also provides cause-and-effect analysis, investigations, mechanical and parts inspections, expert testimony and litigation support.

Jeff has designed and built customized power-transmission machinery, including high-performance generators and hydraulic-control systems. He also has designed testing equipment for research and automotive applications as well as engineering design and assembly modifications for a heavy-truck manufacturer.

Jeff is an active member of professional and business organizations, including the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association and Society of Automotive Engineers.
