Crane Staff Taught at STEMLink at Normandale Community College

On May 13, 2016 through the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Twin Cities Chapter (SHPE-TC)Hernán Mercado-Corujo, P.E., CFEI, CVFI and Luis Flores, P.E., ACTAR participated in STEMLink at Normandale Community College.  They taught 72 fifth grade students about the concept of fire and the science behind it (physics, chemistry).  Several experiments were conducted including how a candle works, how to extinguish a candle with CO2, getting water from a candle and more.  The concept of the fire tetrahedron (heat, oxidizer, fuel, chemical reaction) was also explained and illustrated.
