Bill Sutherland's more than three decades of wide-ranging electrical engineering experience complements Crane Engineering's other engineering and analytical disciplines. He brings significant expertise to bear on questions regarding the behavior of electrical systems and equipment under both normal and fault conditions.
With nearly 25 years as a consulting electrical engineer in private practice, Bill has extensive background in forensic engineering; design and design management; system analysis; and third-party equipment certification. He founded MinnTech Engineering Consulting Engineers in 1984.
Previously, Bill spent 10 years with a multinational company, where he was involved in the design, development and production of computer-controlled, closed-loop servo-hydraulic systems for research, industrial and military applications.
A licensed professional engineer in 49 states and the District of Columbia, Bill is a proponent of engineering licensure. He is a past chair and serves on the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design. Bill also is an officer of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying.
