Stefan D. Helgeson, AIA, ASLA, is president of Crane Engineering Building Science, and brings the perspective and expertise of a practicing architect. While leading a team of building science experts from diverse technical backgrounds, he plays a key role in projects that require the analysis of possible failures of architectural designs or planning decisions. Much of Stefan's work relates to determining if structures and environments are in compliance with relevant codes and regulations, and the effect they have on a particular incident or outcome.
In executing his management and consulting duties, Stefan relies on more than 25 years of experience in designing, planning, programming and project management of institutional, commercial and housing projects. He has conducted hundreds of field assessments of actual conditions, been instrumental in code research and interpretation and served as an expert witness to present his professional opinion.
Stefan is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), Construction Specification Institute (CSI) and recipient of numerous awards.
